When it comes to festive challenges, there is probably none bigger than dressing a dinosaur for Christmas day, but when the team from the Natural History Museum London’s Dinosaur Gallery got in touch with this mammoth request we jumped at the chance!
Proving that even the most fearsome of prehistoric creatures can’t resist a good Christmas jumper, ‘Rex’ the animatronic Tyrannosaurus rex, sported their very own mammoth version of this year’s NHM festive sweater for the whole of December 2021.
Made by the team at the British Christmas Jumpers factory in Leicester, the giant jumper was the brainchild of NHM Buyer and Product Developer, Carla Treasure and British Christmas Jumpers Director, Snahal Patel.
Snahal commented “We absolutely love a challenge at British Christmas Jumpers, but this dino-sized jumper has to be the biggest and craziest! Luckily our team of Xmas experts were not phased when we suggested it and have worked tirelessly to make sure ‘Rex’ looks their best for the festive season”
The entire process of knitting a sweater to fit a dinosaur took about 100 hours to complete, with 4 fittings and prototypes required.
During the fitting process, the museum technicians were on hand to pause the T. rex’s movements while our team measured the dinosaur using step ladders and an extra-long measuring tape.
The final jumper measures nearly four feet around the neck, nine and a half feet around the shoulders and just over 10 feet around the body, weighs approximately 12.5 the size of an average child’s Christmas jumper and is a perfect replica of the Natural History Museum Shop's 2021 Christmas jumpers.
We think you'll agree that 'Rex' looks very smart! Just one question though, how will we top this next year?!

Girls Roll Neck Christmas Jumper
The second jumper is the Girls Roll Neck. This stylish festive sweater with a classic cosy roll neck is the ideal winter wardrobe warmer, as well as making the perfect Christmas gift. Featuring two fun dancing reindeer and a Nordic design the jumper remains Christmassy while still being completely adorable and practical through those colder months.
Boys
The first of our boy’s jumpers is our Cosmic sweater. Featuring an array of youthful Christmassy colours and a lightweight cosy fabric, this sweater is ideal throughout the whole of the winter season. The subtle festive colours mixed with the jacquard design means that your little boy will get the most out of his Jumper.
The second of our boy’s collection is our Deer Xmas Jumper. This jumper adds a touch of Christmas spirit through the deer and the snowflakes yet still remains wonderfully practical throughout the less festive months. This jumper is an essential for brightening up that horrible deary January.
The third of our jumpers is our Boys Stag Christmas Sweater, which believe it or not features stags. This simple, warm festive number is ideal as it can be dressed up or dress down and can be worn through Christmas and beyond. 1. Sing and dance to your favourite Christmas album
Put on those classics that remind you of your childhood and prepare to sing and dance like nobody is watching.
2. Eat a mince pie
I think this one is pretty self-explanatory. Nothing screams Christmas like a good old mince pie.
3. Dress to impress
Stick on your Christmas sweater from British Christmas Jumpers and go about your day like the full festive fashionista that I know you are.
4. Go see the lights
I would usually take a trip to London and drive around while looking at the Christmas lights but they've gotten a bit rubbish with all the advertising, ah capitalism. But, I am sure you have a local house where they just go completely over the top and the whole 'more is less' rule just goes out the window.
5. Watch a Christmas film
Again, pretty self-explanatory, unless you are one of these people who will watch Christmas films all year round then a good cozy up on the sofa with your favourite Christmas film should do the trick.
6. Relax – candles on, Christmas tree lights ... and breathe..
This time of year gets pretty stressful and hectic no matter what sector you work in so be sure to take some time to relax and recharge. We recommend popping a nice Christmas scented candle on with the Christmas tree lights and just take 5 (or 50) minutes to yourself.
7. Bake
Bake a nice gingerbread house to decorate or simply bake some gingerbread men if you're not gifted in the arts of baking. Or, if you really really are not gifted in the arts of baking, like myself, then buy the ready made stuff and decorate it.
8. Organise a secret Santa
With your friends, work colleagues, family or your pets? Secret Santa is a great way to have a good laugh.
9. Have a Christmas get together – feat Christmas jumpers
Plan a themed get to together whereby everybody has to wear their Christmas jumpers. This is a great way to reach out to people you may not have seen for a while in a fun and relaxed setting.
10. Write a Christmas list – you’re never too old
It doesn't matter how old you are Christmas lists are always a must. It also saves a lot of stress for your loved ones when they are wracking their brains trying to figure out a gift for you.

Christmas Jumpers have become a must have staple item in their own right, so we thought we would put together a little lookbook so you can see a little selection of the ways that you can style your British Christmas Sweater. Check out our Youtube video to see the full styled outfits.
Layer our chunky crew neck sweater over an oversized floaty shirt-dress and pair it with long winter boots. Not only is this outfit super comfortable but it is also fashion forward, and who doesn't want to look fun and festive and still look head to toe on trend at the same time?
Take our Red Deer jumper over a turtle neck body and match it with a simple black denim skirt and winter boots. Oh, and we also do this sweater for men too, so don't forget to get your partner a matching jumper, you will be the coolest couple at the Christmas party, we can confidently assure you of that.
For the cosiest outfit, you will have ever worn, take our snowflake polo neck and a pair of comfy mom jeans and little bluchers. This look is perfect because you can layer is up as much as you like. I added a pair of fishnet tights under the jeans to bring another element to the outfit, but they also add a touch more warmth! If you're out and about in the bitter cold then throw over a duster or trench coat to complete the look
ACCESSORIES
Nothing says warmth and comfort like a good old hat and scarf, and now you can continue with your festivity by accessorising with our Christmas beanies and scarves in order to create the ultimate fun winters outfit.
We thoroughly hoped you enjoyed this blog post and make sure you check out our blog post on youtube! Let us know how you would wear your British Christmas Jumper?

Now is the perfect time to get cracking on with that Christmas shopping before it gets too late and then you start to panic. Unless of course you are one of these people who gets it all done months and months before even the first leaf turns orange. In which case, teach us how!
Over here at British Christmas Jumpers we have devised a list of our top five for men and women, so if you are lacking inspiration then keep reading.
Women
Christmas jumpers used to be that unwanted gift given by an embarrassing aunt but things have changed and they have quickly become this seasons must have item. With a 200% increase in sales since 2013 it’s pretty evident I am not making this stuff up.
2. Whittard Hot chocolate
A gift box from one of the finest chocolatiers in the UK is the most wintery warming gift you can offer. Ranging from £40 right down to £2.50, you will be sure to find something you can afford and something to suit their taste buds.
3. Ecoya French Pear Candle
I think we can all agree that all of Ecoya’s products smell, and look amazing. This candle is no different. I received this candle a little while ago as a birthday gift and it still remains my all-time favourite candle and scent. This candle is so strong that you can even just leave the lid off and the room very quickly becomes overrun with a relaxing comfortable aroma. So light your handle, throw on your Christmas jumper and snuggle on the sofa with a cup of Wittard hot chocolate.
4. Comfies!
There is nothing better than curling up on the sofa on a cold evening with a book and your warmest comfiest clothes on. So a cozy woolen jumper like this one from Paul James knitwear is the perfect Christmas gift. Socks also used to be the kind of gift whereby you put your best acting skills on display; ‘oh nan, you really shouldn’t have’. But now, they have become a fashion trend and perfect accessory in their own right. These Alpaca socks by Paul James Knitwear are perfect for a gift as they are unique but also ultra-cosy and warm
5. The Perfect Pouch
This perfect little pouch by Kate Loxton comes in ten different colours so you’ll be sure to find something that is likely to suit the person you are buying for! This little clutch bag can be used on night outs or simply throw your staple handbag items such as lipstick in there and pop the pouch into your day bag. This gift is perfectly ideal for those disorganised people with Mary Poppins bags who are always misplacing everything!
Men
This trend plays no exception for Men so there is no way they can escape! Men too are proudly wearing the iconic number. Our British Christmas Jumpers here in Leicester are perfectly fitting for any man. From ‘in your face’ Christmas spirit to subtly celebrating we offer an array of designs suitable for everybody.
2. Accessory box
This classic jewellery and accessory holder is ideal for the modern man. They’ll be no excuse to leave things lying around with that neat, handy organiser!
3. Days out
I don’t suppose the person you are buying for is a complete nut case? If so then you simply cannot go wrong with an ‘experience’ gift, my particular favourite would have to be the Zorbing. If the person you are buying for is very particular with their likes and dislikes then this is the perfect gift for them, no better gift than creating memories. That and the fact it would be hilarious to watch them rolling down a giant hill in a huge plastic ball, not exactly something you see every day?
4. Boys will be boys
I often sit and wonder if men will ever grow up or if they will always carry a bit of their boyhood with them. This portable football goal is a wonderful gift for any man who still has the heart of a boy! It is also perfect for Christmas day entertainment, something the whole family can enjoy and get involved in.
5. woollen jumper
You cannot go wrong with a classic woolen sweater and this one from Paul James Knitwear is perfect for the winter months and also completely stylish so perfect for a Christmas gift!
I hope you enjoyed our quick little gift guide, be sure to check out British Christmas Jumpers for lots of unique Christmas sweaters!

THE MULTICULTURAL CHRISTMAS JUMPER
Established in 1987, Jack Masters is a family owned knitwear design house & manufacturer based in Leicester, England. Fast forward 25 years to 2012 and Jack Masters launches British Christmas Jumpers. A fun festive and family driven business which focuses on producing high-quality Christmas sweaters, which are built to last.
The multicultural Christmas sweater is the brand's most popular product and is the most iconic. In 2014 the jumper generated a huge amount of press, not just nationally, but also on an international scale. The jumper became so iconic due to it's modernistic approach to a very conservative and traditional holiday. British Christmas Jumpers wanted something that reflects not only the brand itself but also the multi-faith nature of the UK and the home town in which our brand is based.
So, let's take a look at what the jumper features…
Buddhism
Peace
Christianity
Sikhism
Islam
Science
Judaism
Taoism
Hinduism
On the 20th November 2014, the jumper was being featured on major newspapers and news channels, starting off with the Mail Online and then snowballing (excuse the pun) from then on.
Sales soared, and the Multicultural Christmas jumper became the most successful own label product in the history of Jack Masters. The brand is looking forward to continuing the momentum in 2017.
Watch our short video all about this magnificent creation and be sure to subscribe to our channel!
I am sure you can all remember how excited you used to get at Christmas time when you were children, and now you might just get excited for the younger members of your family. At British Christmas Jumpers we cater for children as well as adults so that every member of the family can get their hands on one of our Christmas sweaters. Why not get your little one a kids British Christmas sweatshirt and get excited for Christmas with them.
I remember not being able to sleep due to excitement but then getting quite worried about it because Santa wouldn’t come if you were still awake. Then, when I could eventually sleep I would wake up at a ridiculously early hour of the morning, waking my parents at the same time by jumping on their bed. Looking back on it, they stayed very calm, because if somebody did that to me now, I don’t think I would be quite as calm. I need my sleep!
We would then be told to wait till everybody was washed and dressed and had eaten breakfast till we could open any presents which were torturous to a little 6/7 year old who’s solely running on adrenaline and excitement. Luckily I was never one of those who had to wait till they had their Christmas dinner in the evening time to open any presents.
However, while this time of year is full of happiness and joy it is important to remember those less fortunate who are unable to celebrate Christmas the way we are lucky enough to. Destroyed by civil war, for children in Syria Christmas becomes another day whereby they are terrified and fight for survival. For many civilians, Christmas becomes a burden as the memories flood back of their old homes and lives that are now destroyed by violence and dictatorship.
We would love to know the routine and traditions you have in your household? Perhaps you get to open one single present on Christmas eve night or maybe you too have to wait right till the end of Christmas day to open anything? Let us know!

It seems the whole of humanity have been obsessed with the idea of a white Christmas for generations, in particular Britain’s – well, we are notoriously obsessed with the weather anyway. When you break it down and think about it why are we obsessed with this freezing cold fluffy white stuff falling from the sky that is actually quite inconvenient for everyday activities. We are actually a lot more likely to see snow from January to March than we are in December.
But, that doesn’t seem to stop us. For the most of us (with the exception of Australia and those down under), snow is synonymous with Christmas. Of course, this idea is supported by the vast amount of Christmas cards, decorations, and calendars all featuring a white Christmas. It is no exception here at British Christmas Jumpers based in Leicester, that we to believe that a snow = Christmas. An array of our sweaters features beautiful snow filled scenes of a white Christmas.
For me, this screams Christmas, and it also makes it more versatile so you can continue to wear your jumper in the colder months following Christmas. Pair your festive jumper with a skirt, thick woollen tights and a pair of boots and you will be decked out for the post-Christmas blues and chill of the cool winter breeze. For those who don’t feel like wearing a skirt, that’s ladies or gents, then add a pair of dark acid wash jeans with a thick scarf and chunky boots. If we are lucky enough to get Snow, then the boots will be perfect for ploughing through (though let’s be real, it will probably only be a centimetre or two).
Our Christmas in London is a wonderful edition to your Christmas wardrobe. London just so happens to be one of my favourite places in the world, but London at Christmas time? Now we’re talking about a whole new level excitement. It’s just so ascetically pleasing. The old traditional buildings, and cobbled streets mixed with the modern architecture and extravagate ‘show off’ lights, that’s all I used to look forward to as a child (and still do as an adult)
Whether (or should I say whether) you have a white Christmas or not, all of us over at British Christmas Jumpers in Leicester hope you have a magical time and enjoy every minute of it.

In 2015 our sweater received an overwhelming abundance of support from all over the world. For some, the jumper stirred controversy with the assumption that Christmas should just be left to Christians, but, for the most part people were extremely happy to celebrate diversity and this jumper was just a representation of that. In this blog post we look at few of the varying Christmas celebrations around the world and why we chose to represent these in a Christmas sweater.
Egypt and Ethiopia
Christmas isn’t actually celebrated on the 25th but instead on the 7th of January. This is sometimes hard for some people to get their head around, the idea of Christmas simply moving! For the 43 days leading up to Christmas the Coptic Orthodox Christians partake in a unique fast consisting of a vegan only diet.
Argentina
In Argentina the weather is warm at Christmas time and most celebrations take part on Christmas eve with the main meal being on Christmas eve afternoon and fireworks are let off at midnight to ‘toast’ Christmas day. Many also launch globos to light up the Christmas eve sky. It is also common for them to stay awake all night celebrating and chatting and then sleeping all of the following day.
India
Christmas is relatively small in India compared with other parts of the world. With only 2.6% Christian in India you can understand how small the celebrations are here compared with 1 billion people who are not Christian. Midnight mass is very important at Christmas time in India and the whole family will walk to the mass which will be followed by a huge feast full of delicacies.
Japan
Christmas is a relatively new concept to Japan and has only been celebrated for the last couple of decades. It is not seen as a religious holiday and therefore people still have to go to work and tend to their day to activities. Fried chicken is often the food of choice on Christmas day and you can even place your order into KFC days and weeks in advance. For the Japanese Christmas is viewed as a way to spread happiness rather than a celebration of religion.
Philippines
Christmas is widely celebrated in the Philippines with a mixture of western Christmas traditions and native Pilipino traditions. One of which is parol which is a bamboo pole with a lighted star or lantern on it. It is the most important decoration in their culture.
At British Christmas Jumpers we believe that Christmas should be a time of happiness, fun and giving, no matter what your religion or culture is.
]]>Based in Leicester British Christmas Jumpers is a family run, family centered business. We are excited for the arrival of the Christmas period; I mean what is not to love really? Family, delicious food, decorations and sparkling lights, stockings, Christmas trees, presents, oh and of course, your trusty festive jumper.
Here you can see our Multicultural Christmas jumper featured in a national newspaper.
The hard-working, talented staff are all passionate about their individual craftsmanship and that is what makes BJC the ultimate destination for those timeless seasonal sweaters that simply never get old. Trend’s come in and fade out pretty quickly, but, let’s face it, Christmas jumpers will always be that wardrobe staple you come back to year after year.
If you’re anything like some of the people I know then perhaps showing off your Christmas spirit to an extravagant level isn’t really your thing, well then our ‘Evil Xmas jumper’ is the jumper for you, it’s the right amount of Christmassy vibes yet also stylish and understated, for those of you who are ‘too cool’ to be decked out head to toe in festivities.
The staff here have been working hard for months and months in order to create the perfect collection of high-quality unique Christmas sweaters, one for each member of the family. Be sure to check out our collection and get your hands on a Xmas jumper or two before they all sell out!
